Richard Frinier outdoor fabrics for Pindler & Pindler

The charming, California-based Richard Frinier has been designing outdoor furniture for over thirty years. He has designed collections and licenses for prestigious companies include Dedon, Century Furniture, Sunbrella and Brown Jordan. His latest project is a collection of four fabrics for Pindler & Pindler.

His Signature Exclusive Sunbrella Collection is called Maison et Jardin, and is inspired, you guessed it, by Europe. Specially blended yarns, all 100% solution-dyed acrylic, are woven to create a linen look, whether on the plain, stripe, damask or fleur de lis incarnation.

Classique is the solid, available in 9 colorways; the stripe La Plage (pictured second from top) is available in five:

Fontainbleau is the name of the large-scale damask pattern with a hand-woven, vintage look, also available in five colorways (pictured at bottom):

Say oooh la la for yourself (and picture yourself swaddled in them in a field of Provencal lavender, too!) at the DDB (Suite 1536), PDC (Suite B530), DCH (Suite 4021), or DCOTA (Suite C230).

We're counting down the minutes to the weekend (just a few more hours!) but till then, let's be honest, we're daydreaming about being outside, preferably by the pool with a cocktail in hand! To further entice (or maybe we should say torture), here's an assortment of new outdoor furnishings available at the DCOTA.

An all-weather wicker from Janus et Cie is pictured above.

Looking for a lounge? Brown Jordan has this sleek new addition:

Those with ample deck space will enjoy good conversation at this spacious sofa from the American firm McKinnon and Harris, available at J.Batchelor:

New Product Preview: Recline on Cloud Nine

The colder months haven't stopped Brown Jordan from introducing hot new outdoor furniture collections. The company recently teamed up with two top designers to produce several lines that make us more anxious for warmer weather than ever.

German furniture designer Mathias Hoffmann created three new lines that we would describe as bold and innovative. With names like Architect, Cubic, and Shape, it’s no surprise that the pieces are sculptural and respect the architecture of a space.

Third time is just as charming with designer Richard Frinier, who has developed a trilogy of soft-modern design lines that evoke rest and relaxation.

Take your pick: Still, Drift, and Cloud Nine—all three pieces use Brown Jordan's signature materials, including extruded and cast aluminum, parabolic seating, and natural and weathered teak.

Cubic or Cloud Nine—what’s your outdoor chair of choice?

Drift: A Richard Frinier Collection for Brown Jordan

In collaboration with internationally acclaimed and award-winning home furnishings designer, Richard Frinier, Brown Jordan introduces a new teak collection called Drift. Drift inspires the desire to slow down, drift and dream in both thought and spirit. Its soft-modern silhouette and superior craftsmanship are defined by its low-profile and understandingly elegant and sophisticated form. Plantation-grown teak in a Natural and soft gray weathered finish complemented by twill fabrics complete this compelling design.

Architect: An Object of Art in Home Furnishings

Architect is Mathias Hoffmann design for Brown Jordan that reflects architectural space without boundaries. Its robust-monocoque silhouette and superior craftsmanship defines the collection’s modern appearance and lasting durability. Both intricate and alluring, Architect’s fully exposed frame stands alone as an object of art. Its mirror smooth welds and exacting finishing details contribute to the precision and beauty of this design. Plus, generously proportioned seats complemented by deep seating cushions and relax pillows provide added comfort and style. Adjustable foot glides allow for leveling on any surface.
