Meet the Blogger: Marisa Marcantonio Speaks the Style Beat (Part 1 of 2)

In the past several weeks, we have introduced you to the 15 bloggers to be part of the DDB's Fall Market Bloggers Lounge. Co-sponsored by GoDesignGo and Editor at Large, the lounge will welcome these designer experts to cover the day’s design happenings.  The last of the 15 bloggers we want to introduce you to is Marisa Marcantonio, decorating and lifestyle expert and author of the popular blog StyleBeat.

In June 2007, Marisa launched StyleBeat to share design trends in a more immediate and personal way. Updated daily, the blog provides an insider's point of view on traditional decorating, existing and emerging design talent, and news on books, events and chic new products. Tracking trends in home furnishings and accessories, advising designers on strategic partnerships through branding and marketing, following new home décor shops and companies, Marisa seeks out what’s next in design for her readers.

"I really love being able to bring attention to young, exciting companies that are just starting out," Marisa said. "It's really exciting to watch them grow. I give them exposure and sales and that makes me extremely happy. I love connecting people to stylish new finds at every price point."

Marisa has been involved in nearly all aspects of the interior design industry during the past decade. Since graduating from Trinity College with a B.A. in art history, she has worked as a style editor for House Beautiful and O at Home. In addition to her magazine work, she has also worked for Scalamandre fabrics and interior designers David Easton and David Kleinberg. Marisa is currently a consultant with Gilt Groupe Home and creative design companies. She also serves as a contributing editor to Editor at Large, has taught at the New York School of Interior Design and volunteers for Kips Bay and their annual showhouse.

Stay tuned to GoDesignGo to learn more about Marisa and what she's looking forward to during DDB Fall Market.
