Lovell Loves Art

After AD100 designer Suzanne Lovell gave her seminar, "The Art of Collecting," part of the Design Loves Art monthly seminar series, GoDesignGo caught up with her at the reception that followed in Holland & Sherry.

"The main focus of my seminar was to stress the importance of paying closer attention to architectural detail with relation to art," Suzanne told us. She also stressed the importance of focusing on the client’s passions rather than your own. "Always keep in mind that it's not about you—it's about the clients and figuring out what they love and working with what they already have. That's why people hire professionals: to understand their vision and find the perfect pieces to match it. Who cares what my taste is? It's all about them." With this mantra, Suzanne is able to help clients develop wonderful collections of their own.

After discussing her seminar, GoDesignGo couldn't help but asking what else she’s up to. "I'm very excited these days because I'm working on a book! It's going to focus on past projects and highlight the art, design, and architecture of the homes I've helped create."

We'll keep you posted about when her book will be on shelves. In the meantime, you can email Suzanne with your art questions at slovell@suzannelovellinc.com.
