In the News: Beacon Hill Launches New Collections for Spring 2012 (Part 2)

Taking color and pattern in a bold new direction, Beacon Hill, a luxury brand in the Robert Allen Design Group, has launched the Beacon Hill Spring 2012 collections, and we love what we've seen. Here's more on what you can expect from Beacon Hill's three newest collections for Spring 2012.

Animal Skins offers timeless motifs and a touch of sophistication appropriate for any setting, from traditional to contemporary. The collection presents varying degrees of drama and color, ranging from the more restrained Pace, a riff on an elephant hide that subtly incorporates a hint of metallic, to daring combinations such as magenta snakeskin and emerald green, cut and uncut velvet leopard.

Modern Silks is the next chapter in a Beacon Hill classic, where bold and abstract designs echo the art and architecture found in today’s dynamic and eclectic interiors. In two new Modern Silks books, abstraction and geometry combine to create a unique synergy between the ideas of expression and control. New patterns and color combinations merge with a range of shapes and techniques most often seen in modern and post-war contemporary art, as well as in neoclassical design. Modern Silks’ range of designs, constructions, and colorations include color blocking, impastoed surfaces, and abstracted layering as well as Greek keys, stripes, and octagons. The fabrics are, by turns, both bold and refined in design and color, offering designers statement pieces and design solutions in a fusion of old and new that has rhythm and relevance.

Stand-out patterns in the collection include Composition, an ode to color blocking and abstract works of art, and Annina, a multi-colored, all-over jacquard, which plays on fields of color and light of impastoed surfaces.

The three new Beacon Hill Color Books are focused on the shades of Moonstone, Silver, and Black and White. They complement and add drama to the existing ranges while also broadening the palette of offerings. Patterns are animated by several different hues that are either chameleonic or iconic. Moonstone reads as blue, purple, or gray depending on its surroundings. Silver offers a varied range of gray from light to dark. Black and White is a classic color combination that celebrates contrast and adds punch to a room.

Noteworthy designs in the new Beacon Hill Color Books include Infinitum, a wool appliqué embroidered on a faux suede, woven in Germany; Flamme, a flamestitch jacquard constructed using the Bargello needlepoint technique; Tali Ikat, a transitional interpretation of an ikat, woven in Italy; and Tarasque, a graphic interpretation of a traditional Asian toile.
