In the News: Roger Thomas Collection Arrives at S. Harris Part 2

Five-star interior designer Roger Thomas recently collaborated with S. Harris to make a sophisticated, engaging and memorable fabric collection. The Roger Thomas collection is rich with festive color, captivating texture, creative styling and elegant simplicity. Roger’s design touch inspires both the hospitality and residential markets.

Inspired by his worldly travels and library of sketchbook drawings, the collection is a true reflection of what Roger calls “memory inspirations." He has been somewhere and has seen something that inspired a thought, and in turn, a design. Ahwahnee Sheer draws inspiration from a page right out of his sketchbook and captures the graphic design of a sycamore tree’s bark.

Roger’s love of vintage Chanel suits, and the ones his mother and her friends wore to tea parties, is modernized in Mayfair Tweed. Memory inspirations continue to pop up throughout this collection, drawing from Roger’s childhood to his recent travels; Excelsior Sheer brings the random patterning from a game of Pick-up Sticks to life in an exquisite embroidery with an all-over random repeat. Fittingly, each pattern bears the name of a legendary hotel, names synonymous with a life of luxury travel.

“I wanted to create a collection that I could use in my own design work but, at the same time, would inspire my peers to use,” adds Roger. “The warmth and softness that textiles bring to interiors is key to the success of the space. I am always looking for innovative ways to use fabrics and celebrate their qualities; through this collection we were able to do just that.”
