Pierre Frey Digs Into Their Archives

Showcasing historic document fabrics, Exhibition 1935 – 1955: inspiration & realism of fabrics, Pierre Frey looked into their vast archives to create a captivating look at designs past. Exploring the bold and fascinating era in art and textile design from 1935 to 1955 through the archives exhibit of Pierre Frey, the show of framed textiles provides inspiration in joyful pattern and unique color combinations galore.  This was a period influenced by two main artistic styles:  Neo-Medievalsim and Surrealism.  Noted author, textile historian, and Pierre Frey’s archivist Sophie Rouart curated the display, delving into the cultural period of poetry and imagination as presented through the display of nearly 50 documents and drawings.
