Batik and Blue
Batik from Travers combines embroidery over blockprinting, for a fresh design. Blue and white looks great any time of year, but especially in the spring and summer, with the bright longer days.BATIK PAISLEY was unearthed on a design trip to India. Originally produced using the ancient art form known as Kalamakri, an artwork created with an ink pen, employed a method of hand painting and block printing. Printed on a silk linen ground, the Batik Paisley captures the escalation of design with 21st century techniques, which replicate the Kalamakri art form. The embellishment of random embroidered flower motifs introduces a dimension of colour to this design.
