Ralph Pucci Launches New Van Der Straeten for Westweek

In celebration of Westweek, Ralph Pucci will present, for the first time at the PDC  in Los Angeles, a 20 piece limited edition collection by French designer Herve Van der Straeten.   A designer-artist, Herve resides and works in Paris.  His work is characterized by its intensity and his furniture designs create sensory surprise and intrigue.  The sculptured forms and rich textures of the consoles, tables, mirrors, lamps and other decorative objects will be introduced at the Pucci PDC showroom.

Cabinet makers, bronze and woodsmiths and lacquer workers work painstakingly by hand to create these designs that are limited editions and made to order.

The Tabouret Capsule (puff), a pod-like stool in lacquered aluminum or bronze has become a Van der Straeten signature and is a contemporary design classic.

The lighting is made of  lacquered bronze and chandeliers of bronze and rock crystal.  Side tables with tree branch bronze legs are soft, sensual and seem to take flight.  Mirrors are set in bronze.  The highly lacquered consoles are a sight to behold.

The collection includes 3 Consoles, 4 Mirrors, 3 Lamps, 3 Chandeliers, 3 Wall Sconces, 1 Floor Lamp, 2 Side Tables and the Puff (Tabouret Capsule).

Van der Straeten designs are characterized by freedom, research and experimentation, combined with high quality production and focuses on a unique theme for each piece.

Each design expresses a multi faceted personality, capable of reconciling reality and fantasy, sobriety and panache.  The mix of sensual lacquer with rough, strong yet delicate bronze, is clear in his craftsmanship.
