A Van Day Truex Chair Gets A Re-edition

There is such charm in a diminutive chair. This  small pull up chair  is based on a pair of circa 1870 Louis Napolean chairs designer Van Day Truex was given as a gift and which played a prominent and often-cited role in his New York apartment.

Mr. Truex sketched and proportioned the measurements and together with Harry Hinson guided the hand-making of the model to his specifications.

It is for the first time available in limited numbers at the Mrs MacDougall Shop at Hinson & Company in a choice of black satin lacquer or polished mahogany stain on English hard maple.

One yard of fabric is required and the dimensions are: 17” wide; 21” deep; 31 l/2” high; seat height 16”

As of March 1st, the chair will be at Brunschwig & Fils, in an area specially created for Hinson, recently acquired by B and F.
