Richard Frinier outdoor fabrics for Pindler & Pindler

The charming, California-based Richard Frinier has been designing outdoor furniture for over thirty years. He has designed collections and licenses for prestigious companies include Dedon, Century Furniture, Sunbrella and Brown Jordan. His latest project is a collection of four fabrics for Pindler & Pindler.

His Signature Exclusive Sunbrella Collection is called Maison et Jardin, and is inspired, you guessed it, by Europe. Specially blended yarns, all 100% solution-dyed acrylic, are woven to create a linen look, whether on the plain, stripe, damask or fleur de lis incarnation.

Classique is the solid, available in 9 colorways; the stripe La Plage (pictured second from top) is available in five:

Fontainbleau is the name of the large-scale damask pattern with a hand-woven, vintage look, also available in five colorways (pictured at bottom):

Say oooh la la for yourself (and picture yourself swaddled in them in a field of Provencal lavender, too!) at the DDB (Suite 1536), PDC (Suite B530), DCH (Suite 4021), or DCOTA (Suite C230).

In the News: Sunbrella Pitches in for Pretty in Pink 4 Life Promotion

From fabrics to philanthropy, Sunbrella is an all-star in our book. Sunbrella has teamed up with Irwin Feld Design/Mid Century Antiques for the sale of a spectacular mid-century upholstered ottoman, of which the proceeds will benefit the Connecticut Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

The 1960’s iron ottoman has been freshly powder coated in fuchsia and reupholstered with Sunbrella Steeplechase Malibu in a petite pattern and accented with Canvas Hot Pink piping. With such color, we think this chair is ideal for both indoor and outdoor use.

The Pretty in Pink 4 Life concept originated last September when Irwin Feld Design/Mid Century Antiques hosted a fall networking event in the gallery. With a gathering during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the firm decided to use the event to raise awareness as well as funds for Komen for the Cure. A fabulous mid-century modern chrome bench was polished and reupholstered in pink and offered for sale with all proceeds benefiting Komen for the Cure.  With the support of social media friends, Sunbrella made its way into the equation and a loving home was found for the bench.

The Pretty in Pink 4 Life sculptural ottoman is priced at $1,200 and can be found on the Irwin Feld Design website. You can find Sunbrella's Steeplechase Malibu fabric at the DDB in Sonia's Place, at the PDC in Summit Furniture and at the DCOTA in Jeffrey Michaels.

Product Spotlight: Pindler & Pindler's Panama-Inspired Fabrics

We've never been there, but we're guessing that if we went to Panama, we won't find fabrics as fabulous as Pindler & Pindler's new Indoor/Outdoor collection.

The line is part of their exclusive Hearst Castle Collection and its every bit of the exotic and romantic look that you might expect from the South American inspiration that made them.

The patterns were inspired by traditional molas, fabrics that make up women's clothing in Panama, and other artifacts collected by William Randolph Hearst on a Panamanian Trip he took in the 1920s. The collection offers transitional designs in fresh, lively color combinations. They are woven with 100% solution dyed Sunbrella® yarns, making the collection appropriate for a broad range of applications both indoors and outdoors.

View the entire collection at the Pindler & Pindler showroom at the PDC in Suite B530, or visit them online.

By Michael H. Lurie

So, what are we now showing? We have several levels of suede and silk fabrics that are available for wall, furniture and drapery applications. We offer custom and ready-made collections of coordinates in crackled, mottled, striped and textured wallcoverings with low minimums. We also have metallics, tea papers, fabulous faux furs, flocked damasks and novelty wallcoverings.

Even our children’s section is getting some new collections, along with additions to our unmatched selection of grass cloth and woven natural fibers assortment.

One thing truly not to be missed is the largest selection of Sunbrella fabrics in the DDB! We are preparing for a new collection of digitally produced wall murals with a broad array of subject matter, each capable of being sized for various applications and room dimensions. New 54” wide sidewalls and panels, also digitally produced, will soon be on display with their textured grounds available by themselves as well.

So, have you seen Sonia's Place lately? Get yourself to their DDB showroom and ask someone in the showroom to show you around.
