New Faces: Kate Premo at Edward Ferrell + Lewis Mittman

Kate Premo is the latest addition to the New York staff at Edward Ferrell + Lewis Mittman (EF+LM), as their new Director of Public Relations and Strategic Marketing. Kate has an undergraduate degree from Syracuse University, a masters degree in Strategic Communications from Columbia University and a certificate in Interior Design from Parsons School of Design.

Kate has worked for a range of furnishings and textile companies, including Niermann Weeks, Schumacher and RJF International/Koroseal New York. She has also consulted for design-related nonprofits, including the Foundation for Design Integrity and Furnish A Future.

“I really enjoyed working with EF+LM as a consultant, and I’m thrilled to be working more closely with the team,” Kate said. “It’s a terrific company, a great group of smart, dedicated people, and a gorgeous range of furnishings. I’m really excited about this incredible opportunity.”

“Kate’s energy and enthusiasm, as well as her communications expertise and industry knowledge will be invaluable as we enhance and cultivate our core EF+LM brand and expand into the contract market with DECOURS. I can’t tell you how excited I am to have her knowledge, energy and passion on our team,” said EF+LM president Jobi Blachy.

In the News: Designers Guest Star in EF+LM’s Capsule Concept (Part 1 of 2)

The ever trendsetting Edward Ferrell + Lewis Mittman (EF+LM) has taken a cue from the fashion industry. This summer, EF+LM has launched the first of many Capsule Collections designed by prominent interior designers.

“The term Capsule Collection comes from the fashion industry where famous designers do ‘guest appearances’ with other brands,” said Jobi Blachy, president of EF+LM. “Selected designers will all be doing guest appearances with EF+LM through their furniture design.”

In searching for a creative way to introduce new furniture into the company’s existing line Blachy wanted to capture the creative talent of top clients. He specifically wanted clients who challenged the company’s workroom with custom product. In a nod to the fashion industry, Blachy decided that the concept of a capsule collection would be a perfect fit.

There will be one or two Capsule collections each year, in addition to in-house designed introductions, like the glamorous new in-house designed collection that will grace showroom floors this summer.

Stay tuned for more about EF+LM's Capsule Collection to find out who the first designer with a Capsule Collection is.

Product Spotlight: The Sasha Cocktail Table—A Happy Accident

The latest piece to grace the floors at Edward Ferrell + Lewis Mittman (EF+LM) is the Sasha cocktail table. Produced at a factory near Lake Como, the brass table was designed as a custom version of a long-beloved EF+LM design. However, the factory made a slight error in converting the dimensions to metric.

“It was a very happy accident,” said Jobi Blachy, President of EF+LM. “Of course we made a new table for the client, but we put the Sasha on the floor in New York and she was an immediate hit!”

This table is sister to the best-selling Laura cocktail table, but the Laura boasts straight lines and sharp corners. The Sasha has a bit more flair with curved outer sections, giving the piece a timeless elegance.

Like the Laura, the Sasha can be customized in a multiple of finishes, sizes, and shapes. It is now available on the EF+LM website, or see Sasha in person at their showroom in the DDB, PDC, DCOTA or DCH.
