A trifecta of new at Loro Piana

Since the venerable fashion house Loro Piana launched its Interiors collection five years ago, its offerings have grown to just 600 skus, a far cry from the number offered by many other showrooms. Loro Piana prides itself on the highly edited assortment, based on the finest quality fibers in a refined color palette -- neutrals along with quintessentially European colors like tangerine and violet. Interior designers and fashion folks have been swooning over its wools, cashmeres, vicunas and linens ever since.

In January at Maison et Objet in Paris, they presented a collection of twelve designs woven entirely in Trevira. The Passepartout collection, ideal for yachts and hospitality, is taking even the most jaded designers by surprise because it integrates so seamlessly with designs in the "real" fibers the Trevira mimics--without the "maintenance" of linen. No problem, wet swimsuits! Best of all, it's an entire collection, so it could conceivably fill a whole room, whether on a yacht on in a home full of young kids. Seen here, from top to bottom: Mamounia, Shandrani, 2 colors of Amandari and another of Shandrani:

Also new are two new llama carpets. Designed as a more affordable and casual alternative to their best-selling cashmere carpets, they are also about one-third of the price and complement the existing neutral color palette. Available in three natural, un-dyed colors, they can be used as wall-to-wall carpets or area rugs.

Be sure to inquire about the new custom blanket program as well, which enables you to specify trim, colors, material, and of course add personalization.
