Meet the Blogger: Nicole Gibbons' So Haute Style (Part 1 of 2)

The DDB's Fall Market Bloggers Lounge will be your one-stop-fix for design and lifestyle. Co-sponsored by GoDesignGo and Editor at Large, the lounge will welcome 15 bloggers who will be covering market events. Today we want you to meet Nicole Gibbons, decorating and lifestyle expert and author of the popular blog SoHauteStyle.

Launched in January 2008, the blog serves as a guide to stylish living for décor-obsessed readers around the globe. With coverage ranging from the latest design news and trends to decorating advice, inspirational interiors, shopping resources and ideas for easy entertaining. Nicole’s blog aims to inspire readers to create a home they love and to do it with style.

"The most rewarding aspects of blogging is knowing that the content I create is inspiring people to live more beautifully every day," Nicole said. "I also love that my blog gives me access to such great design! I'm able to get early previews of new product lines and really learn the market and I've also had the opportunity to get connected with a lot of design industry insiders and influencers."

Since launching So Haute Style, Nicole has become known for her fresh, approachable and fashion-forward point of view on living and has quickly established herself as an authority on all things home, garnering recognition in such top media outlets as HGTV, TV One, House Beautiful, Real Simple, Better Homes & Gardens, The Washington Post, Apartment Therapy, Lonny, The Nest, The Huffington Post, Money magazine, Luxe Interiors + Design, ElleDecor.com and on countless design blogs. Real Simple—which declared So Haute Style one of the web’s best all-around home blogs in August 2009—summed up Nicole’s approach perfectly when it said reading So Haute Style “is like getting design advice from a friend.”

Nicole graduated with a degree in Communication Studies from Northwestern University and although she refined her interior design knowledge through formal studies at the Fashion Institute of Technology and New York University her sophisticated sensibility and eye for design was cultivated at an early age while growing up in the Midwest under the influence of her interior designer mother.

Stay tuned to GoDesignGo to learn more about Nicole and what she's looking forward to during DDB Fall Market.
