Now You See it, Now You Don't

What we thought was an optical illusion turned out to be an audio-visual reality. Whether you believe in TV in the bedroom or not, this clever design trick can delight members of either camp.

We’re talking about the LCD Bed designed and developed by Avery Boardman. It’s a noiseless, remote controlled TV lift, which fits neatly within the narrow cavity of the bed’s footboard.

"People now have the option of designing the bedroom however way they love to, without having to worry about a piece of technology throwing the entire room off," Design and Sales Associate David McCuen told us.

The features of the LCD Bed include up-and-down motion as well as a 360-degree swivel, allowing someone to sleep in the bed while someone else watches from the other side. Because they are custom made, they can work with specs to fit any TV.

The piece makes sense when we consider Avery Boardman’s mission. According to CEO lbert de Matteo, “When [younger professionals] leave the maelstrom of activity each night and return to their apartments and homes, they are seeking a peaceful haven, they want a refuge from nerve-wracking stimuli. They want to return to the luxurious world of their own individuality,”

Aesthetes everywhere, rejoice!
