We stopped by the Fortuny showroom recently to celebrate the launch of Barry Dixon Inspirations, and to chat with Barry, as well as Brian Coleman, the author, and Erik Kvalsvik, the photographer.
The book takes you through eight homes transformed by Barry, from a cottage and a chic chateau to a grand estate home–with a high-rise apartment and a row house in between. We see the broad range of Barry’s decorating style, and learn what inspired his colors and materials for each location.
"It's been a really great experience to work on this book with Brian and Erik," said Barry. "They make a great team and who better to host a celebration on the completion of the book than Mickey and Maury [Riad] at the Fortuny showroom?"
Barry and Erik gave us a minute of their time to tell us about their next big project. "Our next book will be on Mariano Fortuny, so we're excited to get that going and spend more time in this showroom!"
The Fortuny setting couldn’t have been more appropriate considering that Barry assisted in the remodeling of the showroom in 2010, and just launched a line of pillows for the showroom.
