New Faces: Mr. Hudson Hyland

We normally don’t like to play favorites but it’s hard to resist when you meet the newest member of the Christopher Hyland team. Although he has only 18-months in the business, which is quite a while in ‘dog years,’ Hudson knows his textiles — especially the newest 21st Century Moderne Velvet Collection.




"The collection is very, very special. The textures have so much depth and have nuances in so many different color tonalities," said Hudson (as translated by Christopher Hyland). "They have character and softness, and the pattern and color options are so endless."



We couldn't agree more; the velvet collection had so many rich shades of colors and varying patterns that it took us a while to soak them in. As we mulled over our favorites, a group of 10 ladies from Louisiana arrived for a showroom tour and lunch with Christopher at Astra Cafe.

"I've done this several times," Christopher told us. "I've been auctioned off at charities and fundraisers where I usually give a group a tour of the whole building and then, of course, sit down to lunch at Astra."

What we really wanted to know was: How do we bid for a date with Hudson?
