Melissa McClain's transition into the world of design was eased by the DDB's wealth of information, art, and design within the showrooms and window displays.
"Being here is always inspiring; it's the kind of adventure in every showroom that gives me new ideas and more material to work with."
A newly established Abstract Photographer, Melissa left her job of 15 years in the field of Crisis Management to pursue her love of photography and color with melissaAnne Colors. "I really feel like I missed my calling, so I'm making up for lost time now that I've realized it," says Melissa.
Melissa told GoDesignGo that she stops by at least once a month for the seminars, but always makes time to stay a while afterward to wander through the showrooms.
The next step for Melissa is to take her images to textile. Eventually, she wants to start her own line of pillows printed with her own images. We can’t wait to see them!
Check her work out at Melissa's website or contact Melissa at melissa@melissaAnneColors.com. You can also visit her at the Contemporary Art Fair of NYC at the Jacob Javits Convention Center November 19-21, 2010.
