Meet the Blogger: Jennifer Boles is the Peak of Chic (Part 1 of 2)

You heard it here first: the DDB is creating a Bloggers Lounge for 15 design and lifestyle bloggers who will be covering the DDB’s Fall Market 2011.

The lounge is co-sponsored by GoDesignGo and Editor at Large and  will offer food, Wi-Fi and respite to bloggers between Market events. Yesterday, we shared the Bloggers Lounge line-up of Bloggers and today we will start introducing them. First up is Jennifer Boles of The Peak of Chic.

Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Jennifer obtained a degree in history from University of the South. After graduation she returned to Atlanta to embark on a career in business and finance. After 10 years, Jennifer had a change of heart and decided to pursue her passion for interior design and the decorative arts.

"My father was grooming me to one day take over his company, so my background is in the business world," said Jennifer. "I found myself spending all of my free time reading shelter magazines and collecting vintage design books. It finally dawned on me that my real passion was interior design and especially the history of design. I blame Dorothy Draper’s 'Decorating is Fun!' for luring me into the design world!"

Because of Jennifer's intense interest in design history and a love of writing, it wasn't long before she started her design blog in the fall of 2006. Recently named “blogosphere darling” by Departures magazine, Jennifer has been featured in numerous publications including The New York Times, Town & Country, Elle Décor and Array. Jennifer is a contributing editor to House Beautiful, and she recently completed her first book, House Beautiful Fabrics for Your Home.

When she's not writing, reading or thinking about design, Jennifer spends her time traveling, collecting antique and vintage ceramics, and buying far too many books.

"Books and more books are one thing that I can't live without," Jennifer said. "That said, my dog Alfie, beautiful table linen, especially that by Léron, gardenia, Turner Classic Movies channel and animal print fabrics!"

Stay tuned to GoDesignGo for our interview with Jennifer to learn more about Jennifer and what she can't wait to see during the DDB's Fall Market.
