Paper Caper

An asymmetrical composition focused around a shell with carnation flowers is the focus of Carnations and Shells an Adelphi Wallcovering that could be the earliest example of a complete repeat  of a wallpaper motif found in situ in the United States. The translucent coloration looks fresh today as it did in Massachusetts in the 1720's.
